Late-payment interest calculator

Statutory late-payment interest is the reference rate plus a legal margin, charged for each day after the due date, plus a fixed compensation per invoice. Choose the country, enter the invoice amount, due date and payment date. The calculator applies the rate in force for each period and shows the interest and compensation separately.

How to get a reliable answer

  1. Step 1

Take the figures from the contract

Use the dates, periods and amounts the signed contract states, not a summary or an old spreadsheet.

  2. Step 2

    Check the working

Every result shows its steps, its assumptions and the data it used, so you can see where each number comes from.

  3. Step 3

    Keep it on the contract

In Pactinel the same calculation runs for every contract you hold and reminds the owner in time.

Frequently asked questions

Does it apply to consumers?

No. The rates shown are for commercial transactions: payments between businesses and from public bodies to businesses. Debts of consumers follow other rules.

Can a contract set a different rate?

Often it can, within limits the law sets. If your contract agrees a rate or a remedy for late payment, check it first, because it may apply instead of the statutory rate.
