Pricing, Billing and Refunds

How Pactinel plans are billed through Paddle as merchant of record, including trials, upgrades, downgrades, cancellation, failed payments, price changes, taxes and refunds.

This page explains how paid plans work. It is part of the Terms of Service. Current plans, limits, prices and add-ons are on the pricing page, which prevails for amounts.

1. Paddle is the seller of record

Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record and reseller. When you buy, you buy from Paddle, which issues the invoice, collects and remits sales tax and VAT, and handles payment, payment methods and chargebacks. Your purchase is also governed by Paddle's buyer terms, and your payment data is held by Paddle under its privacy policy. The Paddle entity that sells to you depends on your location. Pactinel does not see full card details.

2. Plans and currencies

Free, Starter, Team and Business plans differ in limits such as active contracts, paid seats, AI pages, storage and features. Users in non-editing roles are free. Prices are shown in US dollars, euros or pounds sterling, and the amount shown at checkout is the amount charged, including any applicable tax. You choose the currency before checkout; a subscription's currency cannot be changed later, so changing currency means starting a new subscription after the old one ends. Annual plans are billed once a year at ten months' price.

Add-ons for more contracts, seats or AI pages are billed monthly. Above the largest plan's limits, an annual Business-plus arrangement is priced on the website.

3. Free trial

New workspaces start with a 14-day trial of Business features and 1,000 AI pages, without a card. After the trial the workspace moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted, but contracts above the Free limit become read-only until you upgrade or reduce active contracts.

4. Upgrades and downgrades

Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your current limits until then. If you are over a lower plan's limits after a downgrade, nothing is deleted, but you cannot add more until you are within the limits.

5. Renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. The workspace Owner can cancel in the workspace at any time with one click. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and you keep access until then. The cancel screen may ask for a reason, offers a pause and links to data export. You can export a full archive at any time, also after the subscription ends.

6. Failed payments

If a payment fails, Paddle retries according to its schedule and we tell the Owner. Paid features continue for a grace period of 14 days. After that the workspace moves to the Free plan; nothing is deleted.

7. Price changes

We give at least 60 days' notice by email before a price change affects you. A customer's price does not rise during the first year. Annual subscriptions keep their price until renewal. If you do not accept a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

8. Discounts

The discounts offered are: annual billing, a founding programme with terms stated when offered, and a discount for non-profit organizations. No other discounts apply. A discount applies as stated at purchase.

9. Taxes

Paddle calculates and collects sales tax, VAT and similar taxes where applicable, based on your billing details. Provide accurate details. A valid tax identifier may change the tax treatment at checkout. Tax shown at checkout is part of the price you pay.

10. Refunds

You can ask for a refund within 14 days of a purchase, and for a subscription within 14 days of the most recent renewal date. Requests are handled by Paddle as the seller, in line with its refund policy, and we support them. Where the law gives you a statutory right to withdraw, such as for consumers in the EU and UK, that right applies, and Paddle's terms provide for withdrawal for any reason within 14 days of completing the transaction, subject to their terms. Outside those windows we do not normally refund fees for the part of a period already provided, and cancellation does not generate a refund for the paid period. If we stop the Service as a whole, or you cancel because of a change you do not accept, we refund prepaid fees for the period after that date. To ask for a refund, use the Paddle receipt link or the contact page and quote your invoice number.

11. Invoices

Invoices come from Paddle, and remain available through Paddle after a workspace is closed.

12. Contact

For billing questions use the contact page, and for payment queries the Paddle link in your receipt.
