Information about Ironclad comes from its public website, read on 23 October 2026.

What Ironclad does well

Ironclad positions itself as an AI contract lifecycle platform that supports a company's whole contracting loop. Its site describes workflows from creation through review, signing, storage and analysis, an AI agent that draws on a company's contracts and negotiation history, and options for implementation led by the customer, by Ironclad's legal engineers, or by partners. It cites analyst recognition and customer-attributed results; we have not verified those claims and do not repeat the figures.

If you need to standardize how contracts are requested, drafted, approved and signed across several departments, and you have the budget and project capacity for a full implementation, a platform of this kind is designed for you. Pactinel does not try to do that job.

Who should choose Ironclad

  • Companies with a contracting workflow to run end to end, including drafting, approvals and signature.
  • Teams with a legal operations function and implementation resources.
  • Buyers who need a vendor with enterprise-level services and are comfortable with quote-based pricing.

Where Pactinel is different

Pactinel is for the company whose contracts are mostly signed already and whose losses come from what happens next.

  • Fast start. Bulk upload, OCR and AI extraction with a verification queue, and import from spreadsheets and other tools' exports. No setup fee and no implementation project.
  • Published prices. Every plan is on /pricing, identical for everyone, with a free plan.
  • Post-signature depth. Computed notice dates, tasks with owners, evidence and approvals, price escalations by CPI, HICP and RPI (Starter plan and above), guarantees, bonds and insurance certificates, and effective terms merged across amendments.
  • Notice compliance. The notices clause is read, non-compliant channels are flagged, letters are drafted for your verification and proof of dispatch is stored.
  • Unlimited free users. Task owners and approvers never need a paid seat.

Pricing

Ironclad does not publish prices. Its page says pricing depends on the products you choose, your users, workflows and growth, and that a tailored quote follows. We therefore cannot compare numbers. Pactinel prices are on /pricing. Pactinel has no Enterprise tier and no negotiation; the price you see is the price.

Choosing between them

The two products overlap less than their category label suggests. If you need contract creation, review and signing across the company, choose a lifecycle platform such as Ironclad. If you only need to stop missing deadlines, apply price increases correctly and keep guarantees and certificates current, you can start with Pactinel on the free plan and see results with your own contracts the same day.

Questions to ask before you decide

Whichever tool you consider, ask the same few things and write the answers down.

  1. Which contracts and dates cost us money today? List the last three renewals, notices or price increases that caused a problem. A tool is good if it would have prevented those.
  2. Who will do the work? Count the people who must act on a deadline. If most are not contract managers, per-seat pricing matters more than the headline price.
  3. How does the price scale? Ask what happens when the number of contracts doubles, and whether add-ons, extraction or implementation are charged separately. Pactinel's answer is on /pricing; ask Ironclad the same.
  4. Can we leave? Check that every table exports and that your data remains yours if you stop paying.
  5. Can we try it with our own files? A trial or free plan on your real contracts tells you more than a demo.

Moving data

Pactinel's guided import accepts spreadsheets and exports from other tools, runs OCR and AI extraction, and puts every field in a verification queue so a person confirms critical values before a contract becomes active. Start with a sample of ten to twenty contracts, compare the extracted dates with the documents, then import the rest.

How we keep this page accurate

Competitor facts on this page come from the vendors' own public websites, listed under sources with the date we read them. When a price or feature is not published we say so rather than estimate. We review the page every quarter and whenever we learn of a change. If you represent Ironclad and see an error, tell us and we will correct it.

Frequently asked questions

Does Ironclad publish its prices?

No. As of 23 October 2026 its pricing page names no plans and lists no prices; it asks visitors to request a custom quote. We therefore state no Ironclad price.

Can a small team use Ironclad?

It is built for organizations contracting across legal, procurement, sales and IT. Whether it fits a small team is a question for the vendor; its pricing is by quote.
