Contract obligation register template

Short answer

Use this register to list what each party must do under a signed contract: deliverables, reports, payments, insurance, audits and notices. Record the clause, owner, due date, recurrence and evidence, then review it on a fixed rhythm so obligations are met and provable.

How to use

  1. Create one register per contract (or one combined register with a contract column). Start from the effective terms after amendments, not just the original text.
  2. Read the contract and list each obligation as its own row, including obligations owed by the counterparty to you.
  3. Give every row an owner (a named person or role), a due date or trigger, and the evidence that proves it was done.
  4. Include notice obligations: renewal and non-renewal deadlines, notice addresses, and the deemed receipt rules. Check the notice clause and keep proof of dispatch for any notice you send.
  5. Review monthly. Mark done items with the date and a link to the evidence. See the obligation management guide.
