California Privacy Notice (CCPA/CPRA)

Notice for California residents under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA: categories of personal information, purposes, no sale or sharing, your rights and how to use them.

Reviewed on October 22, 20263 min read

This notice supplements the Privacy Policy for residents of California, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together "CCPA"). The company named in the Imprint is "Pactinel". It applies to the extent the CCPA applies to Pactinel.

Our two roles

For personal information about our own customers, users and website visitors, Pactinel is a business. For personal information in the contracts that customers upload, Pactinel is a service provider, which processes it only for the customer's business purpose and under a written contract that prohibits selling or sharing it, using it outside the direct business relationship, or combining it with other data except as the CCPA allows. If you are a person named in a customer's contract, send requests to that customer.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information as defined in the CCPA, other than account login credentials, which are used only to provide the service. Customers should not upload sensitive personal information unless needed.

Purposes

We use personal information to provide and secure the service, authenticate users, process payments through Paddle, communicate with you, comply with law, prevent abuse and improve the service.

No sale, no sharing

In the last 12 months we have not sold personal information or shared it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not do so. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Because we do not sell or share, we do not provide an opt-out link, and we have no targeted advertising.

Your rights

If you are a California resident you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and the sources; request a copy; delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (not applicable, as above); limit the use of sensitive personal information (not applicable); and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

How to make a request

Use the contact page and choose the privacy category, stating that you are making a California request. Pactinel operates online only and has a direct relationship with its customers, so email-based requests are available. We will verify your identity by matching the information you provide with what we hold, and may ask for more. An authorized agent may submit a request with your written permission, and we may verify with you. We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary, in which case we tell you within the first 45 days. We do not charge a fee unless requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive. If we deny a request we will explain why.

Retention

How long we keep each category is described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We update this notice when our practices change and show the date of the latest review. For more information about our practices, read the Privacy Policy.
